SENIOR LEADERS’ COURSE 14 CONCLUDES

The Senior Leaders’ Course Fourteen (SLC 14) has officially concluded , marking the end of 13 weeks of intensive training for fifteen Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs) drawn from across the Force and one from the Guyana Fire Service.

The aim of the course was to prepare SNCOs to function effectively as Unit and Sub-Unit Sergeant Majors across the full spectrum of military operations. The course was delivered in three terms and included instruction in leadership, staff duties, communication, tactics, military law, administration, ethics, and military history.

Thirteen students successfully graduated from this iteration of the course.

Students participated in a combination of lectures, discussions, presentations, case studies, and practical exercises, developing key competencies in command, discipline, and professional writing.

The Best Graduating Student award was presented to Senior Petty Officer Lester Lewis of the Coast Guard (CG), while Staff Sergeant Jamaine Fraser of the Five Service Support Battalion (5SSBn) earned both the Runner-Up and Best Service Essay awards.

The course was delivered under the direction of the Officer Commanding, Majors Sherwin Scipio and Oral Thom, with support from Warrant Officers Class Two, Sherwin James, Cordel Hector, and Vivian Joyce.
