Brigadier Clarence Price succeeded Colonel Pope as the Chief of Staff of the GDF in March 1969 and served until July 1979. He was the first Guyanese-born officer to hold this position. Notably, Brigadier Price visited Israel following the Six-Day War, reflecting his commitment to enhancing the GDF’s strategic capabilities.
