Colonel Michael Shahoud stands as a formidable figure, embodying the fusion of military excellence and legal acumen. Commencing his journey on May 13th, 1996, Colonel Shahoud’s trajectory has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on April 24th, 1997, Colonel Shahoud commenced his career in the First Infantry Battalion, where he swiftly rose to the role of Platoon Commander. His adept leadership skills and strategic thinking soon propelled him to the esteemed 31 Special Forces Squadron in 2000, where he distinguished himself as a Troop Commander for two years.

Colonel Shahoud’s commitment to excellence manifested in his diverse roles, ranging from Principal Instructor to the position of Commanding Officer at the Colonel Robert Mitchell Jungle and Amphibious Training School at Makouria. Here, he not only honed the skills of aspiring military personnel but also emerged as a paragon of leadership.

His leadership journey continued with commanding roles in the Two Infantry Battalion, Coast Guard, and the First Infantry Battalion, attesting to his adaptability and unwavering commitment.

Beyond the realm of military exploits, Colonel Shahoud’s intellectual prowess shone through as an Attorney at Law. As the holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Guyana and a Legal Education Certificate from the University of the West Indies, he seamlessly bridged the realms of law and military strategy.

Colonel Shahoud is the recipient of the 40th and 50th Anniversary Medals. The Guyana Defence Force Jungle Warfare Warrior Machete, a symbol of his mastery in challenging terrains, further underscores his exceptional skills.
