Chief of Defence Staff, Brigadier Omar Khan, MSS, received a courtesy call from Lieutenant Commander François Bichon, Commanding Officer of the French naval vessel FS La Confiance, currently visiting Guyana.
The engagement, held at Defence Headquarters, formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between the Guyana Defence Force and the French Armed Forces, while exploring new avenues for cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Also present for the discussions were Colonel General Staff, Captain (Coast Guard) Vernon Burnett, and Commanding Officer of the Coast Guard, Commander David Shamsudeen.
The visit of FS La Confiance to Port Georgetown highlights the continued commitment of both militaries to regional collaboration, maritime security, and professional exchange.
