As the Guyana Defence Force continues its outreach to border communities, the Chief of Defence Staff, Brigadier Omar Khan, MSS, visited Eteringbang, a key settlement in the Cuyuni-Mazaruni region.
This engagement served as a strategic reaffirmation of the Guyana Defence Force’s mission to uphold national security and foster strong relationships with frontier communities.

Brigadier Khan met with and facilitated open and meaningful conversations with the business community, his soldiers, patriots and guardian of our sovereignty. These interactions underscored the Force’s commitment to unity, visibility, and reassurance in Guyana’s most remote regions, especially at a time when national solidarity is paramount.
During his visit, he also toured local schools where he interacted informally with students, teachers, and staff listening to their experiences and reinforcing the Defence Force’s commitment to education and youth development.
The visit deepened our resolve and reassured every member of society that all citizens are seen, valued, and protected. It powerfully reaffirmed that every inch of this land is sacred, every Guyanese life matters, and our sovereignty is non-negotiable.
