The Club emerged victorious in the second season of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Women’s Division 1 League, securing the League title, and further cemented their dominance by also capturing the Division 1 League Cup.

The ceremony was attended by the Chief of Defence Staff, Brigadier Omar Khan, MSS, Colonel General Staff, Colonel Kenlloyd Roberts, MSM, Lieutenant Colonel Julian Archer, MEM, Lieutenant Colonel Loring Benons, MEM, Force Sergeant Major Warrant Officer Class One Christopher Harmon, MEM, representatives from the Sports Corps, club officials, and players, highlighting the significance of the achievement and the pride it has brought to the Force. Throughout the competition, the GDF Female Football Club delivered a flawless campaign, not conceding a single goal. The team displayed remarkable attacking strength, scoring over 100 goals across the league. Many of the competition’s top goal scorers and Most Valuable Players (MVPs) emerged from the GDF squad, underscoring the depth of talent and exceptional performances within the team. Their success was further rewarded with the one-million-dollar cash prize, the league’s cup, and other prizes.

In his address, Brigadier Khan reminded the players that they are not just footballers, but symbols and ambassadors of the GDF. He emphasised that their conduct, bearing, and professionalism are reflections of the Force, and noted that they wear their rank at all times, and must therefore perform with excellence both on and off the field. He also acknowledged the vital role of the players’ families, recognising their sacrifices and continued support.

As a mark of recognition and appreciation, the team received incentives and tokens of commendation, including vouchers and other forms of support. The Chief publicly confirmed his approval and expressed his pride in Sandra Johnson’s selection for an international trial with RC Lens Women in France, and several members of the Club received on the spot promotions.
