In observance of International Nurses Day 2025, the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) hosted a special luncheon to honour the invaluable contributions of its nurses and nursing assistants to military healthcare and operational readiness.

The ceremony included the presentation of appreciation plaques and cash vouchers to the honourees, recognising their outstanding service and dedication.
The event was graced by the presence of Adjutant General, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Eon Murray; Force Medical Officer, Lt Col, Dr. Notoya Lewis-Frank; Lt Col Dr Nigel Langhorne, Doctors Shawn Legall, Ivor Semple, Meer Khan and Rasheeda Jones, along with other Senior Officers, and other members of the Medical Corps.
In brief remarks, Lt Col Murray expressed gratitude for the unyielding professionalism and compassion displayed by the nursing staff. He commended their commitment to delivering exceptional care to service members, veterans, their families, and the wider national community. He also encouraged them to actively mentor potential candidates for future training in nursing roles within the Force.
The event served not only as a celebration of their achievements but also as a reaffirmation of the vital role military nurses play in maintaining the health and wellbeing of the Force.
