GDF WELCOMES UK TRAINING TEAM

Written by

The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) continues to advance its professional development through strong partnerships with international allies. Guided by the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between Guyana and the United Kingdom, a UK training team has arrived in Guyana for a four-day engagement focused on deepening cooperation and strengthening the Force’s capabilities.

The visit underscores the commitment of both nations to reinforce their longstanding partnership. This collaboration centres on knowledge sharing and specialized training, allowing the GDF to expand capacity in key operational areas while supporting mutual security objectives.

During the engagement, the UK team will work directly with several units of the Force, providing expertise, exchanging best practices, and promoting interoperability. Such collaboration not only improves the skills and readiness of GDF ranks but also contributes to building resilient defence and security institutions across the region.

The GDF welcomes this ongoing partnership, recognizing that cooperation of this nature better equips both nations to meet evolving security challenges and to develop capabilities tailored to their unique environments.
