The Guyana Defence Force Women’s Football Team departed Guyana this morning, for Trinidad and Tobago to participate in the inaugural Women Warriors Wellness (3W) Football Tournament, hosted by the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF). The regional military tournament runs from August 4 to 11, 2025.
Before their departure, the 25-member delegation, comprising players, coaches, and support staff was formally briefed at Base Camp Ayanganna by President of the Guyana Defence Force Football Club , Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Loring Benons. He applauded the team for their commitment and also reminded them of their dual role as athletes and ambassadors of the Guyana Defence Force.

He encouraged the players to compete with integrity, unity, and pride, and to uphold the Force’s core values both on and off the field.
The Women Warriors Wellness Tournament is a first-of-its-kind regional initiative focused on strengthening military-to-military relations, fostering camaraderie among servicewomen, and promoting physical wellness through sport.
As the GDF Women’s Team embarks on this historic engagement, they carry with them the full support of the Force and the nation. They are determined to represent Guyana with excellence and embody the warrior spirit of the Guyana Defence Force.
