GDF BRINGS HEALTHCARE AND OPPORTUNITY TO PARUIMA VILLAGE

Written by

The Guyana Defence Force (GDF), in partnership with the Ministry of Health, recently made a meaningful impact in the riverain village of Paruima, Region Seven, through a well-received medical outreach program.

This initiative directly delivered essential healthcare services to the community, which included dental care, laboratory tests, and outpatient consultations. A total of 88 adults and children benefited from the services provided. In addition, the medical team extended their efforts to the younger generation, offering valuable hygiene education to Nursery and Primary School students.

Accompanying the medical mission was the GDF recruitment team, which seized the opportunity to connect with the villagers. Through interactive sessions, they engaged with interested individuals, processing potential recruits for future enlistment. The team also interacted with potential recruits and school children in the community of Waramadong.

This outreach program highlights the GDF’s steadfast commitment to fostering community development. By addressing immediate healthcare needs and opening pathways to opportunity, the GDF continues to exemplify its dedication to serving and empowering the people of Guyana.
