The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Training Corps continues to build the capacity of its ranks through specialised training aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness. In this regard, 33 ranks have commenced the Grade Three Quarter-Ton Driving Course, designed to equip them with the skills required to safely and effectively operate military vehicles.

The course includes both theoretical and practical components, ensuring participants are fully prepared to manage and operate Force assets with confidence and competence.

Delivering opening remarks, Adjutant of Base Camp Stephenson, Major Michael Mc Lennan, reminded the participants that the start of every course reflects the GDF’s commitment to operational readiness, professional development, and the responsible use of its critical resources.

“This course goes beyond simply learning to drive,” he stated. “It is about molding you into proficient, reliable, and professional drivers capable of meeting the demands of military operations. This investment in your development is a testament to the trust the GDF places in each of you. Pay close attention to your instructors, engage actively, ask questions, and practice diligently.”

The training will run for 13 weeks.
