COMMISSIONING ACTIVITIES FOR SOC 56 CONCLUDES WITH DINNER

The commissioning activities for the successful graduates of the Standard Officer Course 56 concluded with the traditional commissioning dinner held at the Officers Mess, Base Camp Ayanganna.

In attendance were, His Excellency, President and Commander-in-Chief, Dr. Irfaan Ali, National Security Advisor, Gerald Gouveia, AA, Chief of Defence Staff, Brigadier Omar Khan, MSS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Errol Watts, Senior Officers of the Force, Force Sergeant Major, Warrant Officer Class One Christopher Harmon, and other special invitees.

After months of rigorous training and development, the newly commissioned officers received their Instruments of Commission, formally authorizing them to serve as leaders within the military. The ceremony underscored the hard work and dedication demonstrated by these officers throughout the course, as they prepared to take on the responsibilities and challenges of military leadership.

The commissioning activities also included the commissioning parade and the presentation of awards to those who distinguished themselves during the course. Families and colleagues joined in celebrating this important milestone.

With the conclusion of the commissioning activities, the newly minted officers are now officially prepared to take on leadership roles within the Guyana Defence Force, ready to serve and protect the nation with honour and dedication.
